What we collect through this website
If you fill in the enquiry form, we collect the name, email address, phone number and message you give us. We use that information only to answer your enquiry.
We do not ask for payment details on this website, and we do not ask for information about your child through the enquiry form.
Registering for lessons
Lesson registration is handled on a separate booking system called Speed Admin, which opens in a new tab when you use a Book a Lesson button. Any information you enter there is handled under that system’s own terms and privacy policy as well as ours.
Children’s information
Where we hold information about a child, such as their name, year group, instrument and lesson times, we collect it from the parent or carer during registration, or from the school we are working in partnership with. We use it to arrange and deliver lessons, keep registers, and report on progress.
Our teaching team holds the safeguarding training and DBS checks required for working with children.
Photographs
Photographs of children appear on this website only where written consent has been given. If you have given consent and want a photograph removed, email us and we will take it down.
Who we share information with
We share information with the school your child attends where that is needed to arrange lessons, and with the providers who run our booking system, our website hosting and our email. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it. These are the periods we work to:
- Student and parent contact records. Kept for 1 year after tuition ends, to support re-enrolment, administration or follow-up enquiries.
- Lesson notes and progress records. Kept for 1 year after tuition ends, for educational record keeping and quality assurance.
- Invoices and payment records. Kept for 7 years, to meet financial and tax compliance requirements.
- Email and administrative correspondence. Kept for up to 2 years, for operational and administrative purposes.
- Staff, tutor and contractor records. Kept for 6 years after the engagement ends, for employment, safeguarding and legal compliance.
- Safeguarding, incident or welfare records. Kept for as long as the law or safeguarding guidance requires.
Once we no longer need information, we delete or destroy it securely.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you or your child, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Email us and we will respond.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
